Neymar, Antony and the Brazilian stars are suffering from extremely dangerous diseases

Brazil’s World Cup fitness woes have continued with a sickness bug hitting the Selecao squad ahead of their match with Switzerland on Monday.

Tite’s side are already without talisman Neymar for the remainder of the group stage after the Paris Saint-Germain star suffered an ankle injury in the victory over Serbia, while defender Danilo will also be missing for the remainder of the group phase.

Now Antony, Lucas Paqueta and Alisson have all sat out of training at various points, with flu-like symptoms.

Manchester United star Antony missed two sessions over the weekend, however, he along with Paqueta and Alisson were able to play some part of training on Sunday as Brazil ready their team for Monday’s clash.

Antony is likely to be one option that Tite considers as a replacement for Neymar, but the illness could now mean other alternatives are considered like Rodrygo or Arsenal pair Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.

Neymar suffered a knock to his ankle during Brazil’s 2-0 opening victory and could be seen in apparent tears on the bench after he was forced off. However, despite a visibly swollen ankle, he is expected to be fit for the knockout stages.

The injury marks the third World Cup in a row that the PSG superstar has suffered from injury problems. In 2014 a back injury ruled him out at the quarter-final stage, and four years later he came into the tournament having suffered a foot injury.

Juventus defender Danilo is also suffering from ankle issues and his injury is worse than first feared, scans revealed on Friday. His place is likely to be taken by Brazilian legend Dani Alves, who could win his 125th cap.

Brazil face Switzerland on Monday with both teams having won their opening game in the group. A further victory for Tite’s side would book their place into the knockout stage.
